The team at Nari’yal Cosmetics welcomed the kitten and hosted a traditional “naamkaran” ceremony for it.
Welcoming a new furry friend is always a joyful occasion, and recently, a Pune-based beauty brand added a delightful new member to its team—a kitten. Nari’yal Cosmetics celebrated this moment by hosting a traditional Hindu naamkaran ceremony for the white and orange kitten. In a unique video, employees can be seen performing a welcome aarti, applying tilak on the kitten’s forehead and showering it with flowers. The highlight of the ceremony was when one of the employees gently whispered the name ‘Cocaya’ into the kitten’s ear.
Following the rituals, the rescued cat was captured cutting a special chocolate cake with the help of another employee. The day concluded with the kitten getting pampered with love and treats. After the organisation posted the adorable footage on their official Instagram handle, it quickly went viral and garnered over 1 lakh views.
Social media users flooded the comments section with positive responses, as they thanked the company for giving happy life to the Cocaya. On the other hand, some even offered caring advice for the kitten. Sharing the clip, the brand wrote, “And we named her COCAYA. She’s a rescued baby. Two of our team members found her.”
Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “The part where everyone hit the bua after whispering the name was cute.”
Another suggested, “Please neuter him /her when they reach the right age, god bless you for adopting the cutie.”
“It’s a great idea that every office’s should implement to adopt a pet friend at the premises to give them a good life and have a stress free work environment,” a comment read.
Another wrote, “Always happy to see a pet treated as family.”
An individual shared, “Wow I wish I was also part of your company.”
One more added, “This is so magical, following all the rituals.”
Amazon is one of several tech giants that allow pets in their offices. According to the company blog, more than 10,000 dogs are registered to accompany their owners to work. Interestingly, pets are also welcome to participate in virtual meetings. This initiative began when the company adopted a Corgi named Rufus in Amazon’s early days. Employees used his little paw to click the computer mouse while launching some of the company’s first web pages.
The company provides specially designed play areas and hosts dog-friendly events to support workplace enjoyment. Additionally, the company also offers perks like discounted pet insurance, and welcomes new pets with special packages and free treats.
