In a surprising twist, a passenger on an Avianca flight bound for Bogota was unexpectedly removed before departure due to a “double booking” issue. Juan Manuel, travelling from Los Angeles to Bogota, had purchased his round-trip ticket three months prior. Upon boarding, he discovered another person seated in his assigned seat, leading to confusion. A lawyer from Colombia, Manuel, revealed that he had purchased his ticket three months ago for an important meeting for a case in LA; however, he had to miss the appointment due to the airline’s blunderous act.
A co-passenger recorded the entire scenario on the flight and shared it on TikTok. Later, Manuel spoke to him and revealed details of it, states a Daily Mail report. He recalled arriving two and a half hours ahead of his trip and making it to the plane before final boarding. After a couple of unexplained delays at the counter, he proceeded to the airline, only to find a child in his seat. He even compared the boarding passes with the passenger, which is when an Avianca agent approached him and asked him to leave. “She tells me, “Oh, Juan Manuel, it turns out that your ticket was resold; get off, get off the plane, do me the favor,” he recalled.
However, it was when he was about to exit the plane that Manuel lost his cool and got into an argument with the staff. A video capturing his actions is now going viral on the internet.

In the video, he can be seen lashing out at the staff and asking them to be more respectful towards the passengers. While the female staff member continued to explain it, he didn’t seem in the mood to let go. “I paid for it, they deducted it from my card, you haven’t given me anything, it wasn’t a favor! It seems disrespectful to me that you would sell something you don’t have,” he said while berating the flight attendants.
After having a heated argument, the man finally left the plane, leaving others to applaud. According to the report, he was booked on another flight, which had a delay, and he missed his meeting.
The incident has sparked a debate on the internet, with many questioning the airline’s actions on why the man was put on the plane if it was oversold. A large section of users took the man’s side, justifying his reason to be upset.
