This temple, known as Birla Mandir, opens from 5:30 am to 12:30 pm, with darshan hours from 4 pm to 9 pm. The serene environment and rich history make it a must-visit destination.
Although Delhi is famous for its historic temples, Birla Mandir in the heart of South Delhi stands out with its blend of history and holiness. It is a renowned tourist attraction, celebrated for its unique architecture. The temple showcases a mix of traditional Hindu and modern design elements. The upper part of the temple is styled similarly to the Birla Mandir, while the lower part reflects the architectural style of South Delhi temples.
The idol present in the temple was not made in India but brought from Karachi, Pakistan. Narendra Chitra, the temple’s trustee, told Local 18 that the foundation of this temple was laid on November 8, 1955. It was brought by the Mahant of the temple from a village named Khudi in Karachi, Pakistan, and installed in this temple. In addition to the Laxmi Narayan idol, the temple also features idols of other deities, crafted by skilled artists from Jaipur, Rajasthan. These idols reflect the varied Indian culture and religious practices, adding to the temple’s charm.
