It is expected that the government can make a formal announcement in the interim budget. However, the decision is yet to be taken.
The government launched the Ayushman Bharat scheme on 23 September 2018. This scheme was then launched under the National Health Policy 2017. This is the world’s largest health scheme. At present, Ayushman cards have been issued to 25.21 crore people under this scheme. It is expected that this number will cross 30 crores in the coming time.
5.68 crore hospitals have also been authorized under this scheme. A total of Rs 69,961 crore has been registered under this scheme.
