Team India’s victory parade took place at the Marine Drive on July 4 evening.

A massive crowd gathered at Mumbai’s Marine Drive on Thursday evening to join Team India’s victory parade for the T20 World Cup triumph. Captain Rohit Sharma and other members of the team showed off the coveted ICC trophy from an open bus and also danced with the fans. It was no doubt a tough day for the traffic department of Mumbai Police. The department had to ensure the safety of the cricketers amid the crazy celebration besides controlling the crowd. After everything was wrapped up, legendary batter Virat Kohli expressed his gratitude to the Mumbai Police for their efforts and lauded them via a social media post.

“Deep respect and heartfelt thanks to all the officers and staff of Mumbai Police for doing a phenomenal job during Team India’s Victory Parade. Your dedication and service are highly appreciated. Jai Hind,” Kohli wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

His appreciatory post caught the attention of the Mumbai Police who replied, “Your GOAT feat deserved nothing less but a befitting bandobast. The VIRAT celebration yesterday was our trophy.”

Many fans shared their thoughts in the comment section and saluted the Mumbai police. Sharing a glimpse of the massive crowd in Marine Drive, a user wrote, “Massive respect. Only Mumbai Police can handle this.”

A fan simply commented, “Well done Mumbai Police. You deserve kudos!.”

Another fan dropped a picture of Virat Kohli from the victory parade and said, “Massive respect for Mumbai police.”

The open-bus victory parade concluded at the Wankhede Stadium where the BCCI organised a glittery event to honour the T20 World Cup champions. The stadium hosted thousands of emphatic fans, who welcomed the Indian cricketers with loud cheers.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who announced their T20I retirement after the World Cup final in Barbados, addressed the crowd at Wankhede and appreciated their support. All members of the squad then took a lap of the ground with the T20 World Cup trophy. Kohli, Rohit and some other players were also captured dancing on the field to the beats of dhol.
