Roni Cohen made a delicate-looking flower out of tiny slices of radish and Hamachi (Fish).

The age-old saying “we eat with our eyes first” rings true, as the visual appeal of food plays a crucial role in our culinary experience. Aroma, taste and presentation combine for a great dining experience and some chefs even create dishes that look like art, making mealtime a treat for the senses. Recently, food blogger Roni Cohen made one such creation that went viral on Instagram. She created a lovely flower out of tiny slices of radish and Hamachi (a Japanese fish). She carefully arranged them to look like two blooming flowers. The result was so exquisite that it appeared too beautiful to even touch, let alone consume.

The food blogger uploaded a video of herself preparing the now-viral flowers on a platter.

The video opens with Cohen cleaning her slicing board and tool. She proceeds to display some thin, circular slices of black radish. She also uses a sharp knife to cut Hamachi into small pieces and neatly arranges radish slices in a row before adding pieces of Hamachi.

She then delicately wraps everything in, revealing the top of the roll, which resembles a flower. She prepares two similar rolls and arranges them on a white platter. She puts a touch of salt over it and uses tweezers to add some lemon caviar (small and elongated citrus fruit). She also puts some ponzu sauce (citrus-based sauce) and yuzu (citrus fruit) dressing into a bowl, stirs it and drizzles a bit over the flowers on the plate.

Finally, when mixed with the dressing, the two floral rolls take on some red hues, and with some basil leaves on the sides, it looks nothing short of an art piece on a dish. Roni Cohen appropriately titled the dish “Sashimi Flowers.”

The video was shared on July 8 and so far it has collected over 1.6 million views.

A user wrote, “This looks fantastic and very tasty”. Another said, “So pretty I bet it is equally delicious”.

“One of the most beautiful things I’ve seen here,” a user impressed with the dish’s aesthetic appeal commented.

“Good surprises come in small packages,” remarked another. Some even termed it “too beautiful to touch”.
