Redditor shares how he found a lost phone during Team India’s victory parade in Mumbai, post shares what happened then.
Mumbai witnessed a spectacle like never before as lakhs of cricket fans flooded the streets to celebrate Team India’s victory parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium. The atmosphere was electrifying, with the crowd packed so tightly that it felt like the city itself was roaring “Bleed Blue!” However, amidst the euphoria, the inevitable chaos of such a massive gathering led to a few hiccups. One man lost his phone during the parade, and his story soon became a viral sensation on Reddit.
Taking to the ‘The Indian Social’ subreddit, a cricket fan shared a heartwarming tale of how he found a phone at Marine Lines. Attached to the back of the phone was a family photo, and the post read, “Found a phone yesterday at Marine Lines.” The fan described his dilemma: “What to do if it has no network access so the owner can’t call me, maybe he blocked the device. I really wanted to help him but if I have it to the police it will take a lot of time to reach him. He doesn’t have any emergency contacts either, the phone [phone] had no battery either.”

He further added, “He tried calling me yesterday but i couldn’t do anything in the stadium and he hasn’t called me again maybe cause it shows no network available.”
The post quickly went viral, with the public offering various solutions. “Charge it up and carry it with you, network will come someday and maybe you can call also!!” suggested by one user. Another chimed in, “Truecaller for the win. It has a wide range of uses from identifying spam calls to connecting lost mobile owners.” A third user advised, “If the network shows up you can just pull out the sim and put in other phone and see any contacts saved on sim which could be his relatives or parents.”
A fourth commenter applauded the OP, writing, “Not many do what you did, Your parents did a good job raising you.”
Fortunately, the OP soon provided an update: “I found the owner, thank you all for helping. This is how I did it. I put his sim in my phone. I got his contact. I searched true caller and got his email. I emailed him. Got his reply and now he is finally taking a sigh of relief.”
