However, a viral Instagram video is challenging this narrative by featuring a teacher helping two Class 7 students, Kishan and Sujal, educate their classmates about menstrual cups, sanitary napkins, and tampons. The video shows the trio presenting menstrual health items and explaining their use.
In the video, Class 7 students Kishan and Sujal demonstrate how to use a menstrual cup. They explain the differences between store-bought disposable pads and cups.
“Kishan and Sujal, grade 7 students, demonstrated to their classmates how to use a menstrual cup. They explained the differences between the cups and the disposable pads available in stores. They emphasized that the packaged pads contain plastic, while reusable cups and cloth pads are better for the environment and one’s health,” a part of the caption read.
It further states, “In our educational session on menstrual health and hygiene, we familiarized the students with the various range of menstrual products accessible in the market, including sanitary pads, menstrual cups, tampons, reusable cloth pads, and underwear pads. Kishan and Sujal volunteered to demonstrate the proper usage of each product while explaining the materials used in each product.”
