It all started when a presenter, not too familiar with English, asked Andre Russell a confusing question, leaving him baffled. This moment turned into an iconic meme, and a similar vibe returned recently when a reporter posed an absurd question to Indian women’s cricket team captain, Harmanpreet Kaur. While the question wasn’t identical, its awkward delivery echoed that legendary moment.
This amusing incident occurred just before India began their Women’s Asia Cup campaign against Pakistan in Dambulla. During the pre-tournament press conference, a reporter, allegedly Sri Lankan, asked Harmanpreet if people were losing interest in women’s cricket, referencing the low attendance of journalists during India’s last tour of Bangladesh. The reporter’s fumbling delivery prompted Harmanpreet to ask for a repeat, but once she understood, she responded with an epic comeback.
