Trump makes a “stand,” or a spiritual manifestation of his soul, to deflect the bullet before it reaches him in the video.

Former US President Donald Trump faced an assassination attempt during a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024. US presidents have been the target of assassination attempts in the past; the most well-known case being that of John F. Kennedy. However, this was the first one to take place in real-time. That is why it has not been restricted to dedicated organizations of political supporters.

The event has managed to permeate every possible discourse. Even an anime adaptation of Trump’s attempted assassination has recently been made, drawing inspiration from the well-known Japanese anime series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

Trump makes a “stand,” or a spiritual manifestation of his soul, to deflect the bullet before it reaches him in the video. The gunman, who has since been named as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, is aiming at Trump. Inspired by JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, this idea lets characters utilize their “stands” to do all kinds of activities and engage in fights.

The video also parodies a now-famous image taken by Associated Press photographer Evan Vucci, which shows Trump covered in wounds, waving a fist in front of an American flag, and surrounded by Secret Service officials.

The video was shared on microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) and has accumulated over 7 million views.

A user commented, “It’s very JoJo-style. The idea is excellent.”

Another user praised the speed at which the video was created, “The animator’s work is too fast.”

A third user said, “I love JoJo Music Anime Douga.”

The main character, Jotaro Kujo, demonstrates the strength of his stand in Stardust Crusaders, the third installment of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, by firing himself in the head and having Star Platinum, his stand, catch the bullet as it penetrates his head.

For a long time, viewers of the anime series have drawn comparisons between Trump and Funny Valentine, a character that debuted in Steel Ball Run, the seventh episode of the show.

This may be partly because of his blonde hair, but after the attempted assassination, more people began drawing parallels between them because of a moment in Steel Ball Run where Valentine gets shot in the ear.
