Zomato has recently introduced a new feature that allows users to delete their order history. The announcement came directly from CEO Deepinder Goyal following a humourous yet genuine plea from a user named Karan. Last year, Karan claimed on X that his wife had discovered his late-night snack orders through Zomato’s order history. Following this, Karan tagged Zomato, explained the incident and asked the food delivery platform to add an option to delete orders.
“Zomato this is sorry to say that i cannot order late night orders now bcoz my wife has caught me ordering late night orders by checking order history. And the worst thing is I cannot delete the order history. Bye bye zomato or make me delete order history as when i order things,” he wrote.
After more than seven months, CEO Goyal responded to Karan by sharing his original post and announcing the new feature which has been introduced “on popular demand.”
“For Karan and many others – you can now delete orders from your order history on zomato. Use it responsibly. Sorry, this took us a bit of time to prioritise and build. This touched multiple systems and microservices. We are rolling it out to all customers as we speak,” Goyal wrote on X.
