On America’s Got Talent, 9-Year-Old Girl Wows Anand Mahindra With Her Singing

America’s Got Talent (AGT) is grabbing attention this season for its brilliant contestants. Last week, 10-year-old Maya Neelakantan amazed the judges with her guitar cover of Papa Roach’s Last Resort and earned praise from Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra.

Now, another young talent, 9-year-old Pranysqa Mishra, has taken the spotlight. Her rendition of Tina Turner’s River Deep, Mountain High wowed not only the judges, Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel but Mahindra as well. Klum was so impressed that she honoured Mishra with the Golden Buzzer. Sharing the video on X, Mahindra shared how Mishra’s singing skills left him astonished and emotional.

The business tycoon wrote, “What on earth is going on? For the second time, within the past two weeks, a young, VERY young, woman of Indian origin has rocked the stage at AGT with raw talent that is simply astonishing. With skills acquired in indigenous American genres of music. Rock and Gospel. Pranysqa Mishra is just NINE years old. Damn, I had tears too when they called her grandmother. Yes, America’s got talent indeed and a lot of it is coming from India.”

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Simply marvellous voice she had, and the level of confidence was literally mesmerising.”

Another shared, “It’s amazing to see such young talent shine on such a big stage. Her mastery of rock and gospel at just nine years old is truly inspiring.”

“She is just 9 years old and received The GOLDEN BUZZER,” a comment read.

Before Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel could speak about Pranysqa Mishra’s performance, Heidi Klum shared her opinion said, “I did not expect that, we expect a lot of things but I did not expect that. You know what I’m going to do now because I honestly don’t want to hear what Howie, Simon or Sophia has to say. I want you to call your grandmother and say that Heidi Klum pushed a golden buzzer for you.”

Heidi Klum, fulfilling her promise, called Pranysqa Mishra’s grandmother backstage, which left her teary-eyed. Meanwhile, apart from Tina Turner, the 9-year-old, talking with America’s Got Talent judge, Simon Cowell said her other favourite artists are Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston.
